You picked the perfect wedding invitation design. You sent them 6-8 weeks in advance. Now you’re starting to get back your RSVP reply cards and making your final guest list. How do you know how many programs to order? Two tips:
1. You can safely order as many programs as you did wedding invitations. That number will account for guests who couldn’t attend the ceremony and those couples who will only take one program, instead of two.
2. Better yet, after your guest list is pretty well finalized, take 75% of that number. Why 75%? Because not every man, woman and child will take a program at your wedding. To save money, estimate that some couples will only take one program and most families don’t take one for each person.
Bonus tip: Designing your programs to coordinate with your wedding invitations will set the right tone with your guests. It’s nice when certain things (like your wedding programs) have a touch of your personality and wedding colors to bring everything together.
