Wedding Reception Venues in Sioux Falls You recently got engaged and are going to start planning your wedding in the Sioux Empire.  If you are like most people, thousands of thoughts flood your mind.  You might be thinking…where do I start?  There are so many things that need to be done, but which arrangements should be made first?  If you are planning on hosting a wedding reception, it is very important to scout venues right away.  Here in the Sioux Empire, it is even more imperative to be thinking ahead regarding wedding reception venues if you are going to have 250 or more guests.  There are limited options for wedding receptions of this size in our area, so availability can be an issue at times.  At the Sioux Falls Convention Center, we can comfortably accommodate wedding receptions of all sizes due to our versatile space.   If you want to have an intimate wedding reception with 100 guests or even less, our meeting rooms work wonderfully because they can be tailored to suit your needs (the meeting rooms have air walls that can be opened and closed as needed, and also feature floor to ceiling windows).  Wedding receptions requiring spaces to handle 150 or more guests are also easily accommodated at the Convention Center.   The Grand Ballroom space can be broken into two rooms.  Ballroom B is the smaller of the two at 7,200 square feet.  This space can comfortably handle up to 290 guests for a typical wedding reception setup…..and this includes a large 18×30 dance floor, head table on risers, cake table, gift table, bars, etc.  An additional amenity to Ballroom B is the private men’s and ladies restrooms, exclusively for your guests.   If you have more than 290 guests, our Ballroom A can provide you with the additional space you need at 9,600 square feet, accommodating up to 380 guests.  To take it even one step further, Ballroom B and Ballroom A combined are referred to as the Grand Ballroom (at 16,800 square feet) and can accommodate large wedding receptions with 400+ guests!    It is never too early to start looking at date availability / venue options for your wedding reception.   Twelve months out used to be a pretty safe booking window, but the trends seem to be changing a bit and stretching to fourteen and sometimes if a particular date is imperative then even sixteen months out.  If you are pretty flexible or have a couple of date options that will work, twelve months is a good guideline to stick with.  Please give me a call and I would be happy to assist you with your summer 2012 wedding reception now!
