Sioux Falls Wedding DJ | Jason Yoshino from Energy Productions covers some wedding planning ideas for your wedding celebration over the next couple of weeks on the Sioux Empire Wedding Network. This post is about the timelines and scheduling of events for your wedding celebration.
A well thought out wedding celebration will keep your family and guests excited, surprised and wanting to stay longer. Your wedding entertainer or coordinator should be able to help you with your vision and also provide helpful ideas for you. When you start to plan your timeline of events, you want to keep your events as close together as you can to keep things moving right along. When the Wedding Party arrives to the reception hall, you should coordinate the dinner service 15 minutes right after your introductions. Within those 15 minutes you could opt to do your First Dance as husband and wife and/or cut your wedding cake. Most reception venues will be glad you opt to cut your wedding cake right away as this will give them the allotted time to cut it for desert service. You want to make sure there is no down time in between such activities, because down time is boring time for your guests.
Your wedding celebration should move at a pace that will keep your guests interested and wanting to be surprised on what is going to happen next. So when dinner festivities, cake cutting, toasts etc are done, you should move right to the start of the dance. I personally know and have experienced, where dinner service and other events have moved along quickly and the dance is now starting a hour early or more. You should never make your guests wait to start the dance at the original time that was planned. If there is a huge amount of downtime, your guests will get bored and uninterested and leave your wedding celebration. Keep it fun and moving, if your four hour dance time is up a hour early, most entertainers except an additional fee and will stay longer. But remember, leaving on the high point of the evenings celebration, will leave your guests remembering how much fun your wedding dance was and also wanting more!
