Wedding flowers are one of most important pieces that tie a wedding together.  Flowers don’t get the recognition they deserve, but think about it…flowers are used at basically every wedding!  So the questions is….is it OK to use artificial flowers?

From a wedding photographer’s perspective, using real flowers throughout is recommended because real flowers have a fresh vibrance and texture that artificial flowers lack.  However using artificial flowers in the decor or centerpieces at the reception is a great way to add style yet stay within a budget.  On the other hand, when it comes to bouquets and boutonnieres, I highly recommend the real thing.  Not only will your wedding photographer have fun with some close up shots, but you can tell a fake quite easily.

So if you have money to spend, go with the real thing. But if you’re on a tight budget, lean toward artificial in the decor at the reception.  Most likely the lighting will be low so your guests won’t even know the difference.  But, do the real thing especially with the bride and bridesmaids bouquets!
